A Thread Returns to the East: Maglificio Maggia at Milano Unica Shanghai

20/07/2026

From 25 to 27 August 2026, Maglificio Maggia will take part in Milano Unica Shanghai, the international showcase dedicated by Italy's leading textile and accessories trade fair to the Asian market. Held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai as part of Intertextile Apparel Fabrics, the event marks far more than another stop on our exhibition calendar. For many years, China has been one of the most important markets in our recent history, and today we return with a clear ambition: to rebuild and strengthen this longstanding relationship.

Reconnecting with a Strategic Market

In recent years, the global challenges affecting the fashion industry have inevitably impacted commercial relationships with Asia, slowing a dialogue that had long been strong and continuous for Maglificio Maggia. Returning to Shanghai allows us to reconnect with this important market, meeting once again the clients and buyers who have come to appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of our knitted fabrics over the years.

The Made in Italy Excellence Sought by the Asian Market

China's premium fashion market continues to value the excellence of Italian manufacturing. Luxury brands and discerning designers are looking for textiles that combine innovation, outstanding raw materials, and a level of craftsmanship that cannot be replicated elsewhere. It is precisely at the intersection of this demand for excellence and our Biella knitting heritage that our decision to return was born: to present our collection in person at one of the industry's most prestigious exhibitions dedicated to this market.

The Collection We Bring to Shanghai

At Milano Unica Shanghai, we will showcase a curated selection of our knitted fabric collection, ranging from single jersey and mercerised interlock to fleece and double-faced fabrics developed for premium menswear outerwear, alongside refined stitched jerseys designed for elegant womenswear. Noble fibres—including wool, cashmere, silk, and viscose—remain at the heart of our collection, complemented by the finishing expertise that has long distinguished the work of our mill.

Biella Heritage, International Vision

Established in 2012 as the Asian edition of Milano Unica, the leading Italian textile and accessories exhibition, Milano Unica Shanghai has become a key destination for premium buyers across the Asian market. It is a setting that perfectly reflects our identity. From our mill in Occhieppo Superiore, at the heart of the renowned Biella textile district, we continue to produce knitted fabrics for the world's leading luxury brands, bringing to every international exhibition the same combination of manufacturing heritage and technological innovation that has defined Maglificio Maggia for generations.

We look forward to welcoming you in Shanghai from 25 to 27 August, where we will present our latest collection and, thread by thread, continue rebuilding a relationship that remains deeply valuable to us.
