There is a deep and unbreakable bond that connects our history with that of international sport—a connection woven through the threads of our iconic fabrics.
On Tuesday, March 31, we will be among the key participants in “Fashionably Fit: Intersections of Sport and Fashion” a study day organized by the Fondazione FILA Museum at the new FILA Brand Experience Center in Biella.
At 10:00 AM, Roberta Varoli, curator of our Maggia 1790 Archive and founder of Archivia, will present a talk titled: “Tennis, What a Style! The Maglificio Maggia Case Study.” This will be an opportunity to unveil to the public and industry professionals the meticulous cataloguing and research work that has brought to light a heritage of over 3,000 garments and historical documents.
We will share how our knitwear company helped shape the global aesthetic of tennis—dressing legends and innovating materials at a time when sport and style were beginning to merge inextricably.
Taking part in this symposium, hosted in FILA’s new home, is not only a tribute to our past but also a testament to how our archive serves as a driver of continuous innovation.
Being members of Museimpresa encourages us to share these stories of manufacturing excellence, making our heritage accessible to designers, researchers, and fashion enthusiasts alike.
The FILA Brand Experience Center, the beating heart of Biella’s sporting heritage, is the perfect setting for this narrative—where athletic performance and Italian creativity come together.
